Simon Jordan responds to boxing legend Nigel Benn wanting to ‘backhand’ him over Conor Benn drugs test coverage

Simon Jordan has found himself in the cross hairs of Nigel Benn.

The talkSPORT host criticised Conor Benn for failing two drug tests and trying to press ahead with a pay-per-view fight with Chris Eubank Jr. last October.

After incessantly denying any wrongdoing, ‘The Destroyer’ recently claimed he’d been ‘cleared’ in his UKAD (UK Anti-Doping) case after the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) decided to lift his suspension.

However, no statement ever emerged from UKAD clearing him of wrongdoing and they ultimately decided to appeal the NADP decision.

The case continues to rumble on, and Conor’s famous father is growing tired of the conversation around his son in the media.

“He ain’t done nothing wrong,” Nigel insisted during an interview with Spencer Fearon.

“Do you know what it is, mate? They’ll get their comeuppance. They will get their comeuppance. I guarantee they will get their comeuppance.

“All of them people like [Simon] Jordan and talkSPORT and all the rest of them. That little smarmy Spencer Oliver. All these little smarmy [people], I want to backhand them. But you know what? I’d get nicked.

“The difference is, not one of them on talkSPORT says, ‘You know what? Let’s get somebody to fight for Conor.’

“No, they had all the negative people, the Boxing Board, they had all of you stirring. That’s what they’re all about, it’s all stirring, all year.

“Look what happened to Amir Khan. They didn’t do nothing, did they? They waited a year and said, ‘Oh, look we’ve had [a positive drug test result].

“A year, but with Conor they find out in two seconds.”

Jordan quickly stumbled across Benn’s interview and responded by suggesting the former two-weight world champion should focus on guiding his son rather than targeting those questioning if he’s a clean athlete.

“Oh dear,” the former Crystal Palace chairman wrote alongside the clip.

“Maybe he’s better served giving some decent parental advice.

“Guiding his son rather than blaming others for simply asking innocence to be proven.”
