Cristiano Ronaldo has made ‘the assist of the season’ for Al Nassr, according to Piers Morgan.
The TalkTV host is a huge supporter of the 38-year-old and was left in awe after seeing another stunning piece of play from the Portuguese star.
Ronaldo was playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League when the ball was played to him on the edge of the Al Fateh penalty area.
With instinctive class, Ronaldo played a first-time flick with the outside of his right boot that led the ball straight into the path of Sadio Mane who put them 1-0 ahead.
This led Morgan to tweet: “BREAKING: The [GOAT] @cristiano with the assist of the year.. maybe any year,” before posting three fire emojis.
However Ronaldo wasn’t done yet – in fact, he was just getting started.
The former Man United star doubled Al Nassr’s lead with a header from inside the penalty area, before making it 3-0 after 54 minutes with a fine close range finish.
Former Liverpool star Mane then grabbed another with nine minutes left, but with Ronaldo not one to let himself be upstaged, the veteran star tapped home from close range to make it 5-0 at the final whistle.
As well as putting in a comprehensive display, it was Al Nassr’s first victory of the Saudi Pro League season and a result that they’ll be hoping can kickstart a title charge.
