Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has opened up to fans on the moment she was starstruck by Tiger Woods.
Speaking in an Instagram story to her nearly four million followers during a Q&A, she was asked who she ‘fan girls’ over and remembered the time Woods gave her some pointers on golf.
Woods might know a thing or two about the sport having won 15 Majors across his career.
And Spiranac admitted that getting lessons from such a prestigious figure had her naturally feeling a bit edgy.
However, the influencer, who has been involved with the sport for many years, explained Woods was a complete gentleman, though she was reluctant to share the story initially owing to people’s wild imaginations.
“I have a lot of pretty cool stories that I would want to share [about meeting famous people].
“But unfortunately when I do, when I meet someone, the comments are [puts on a deep voice], ‘oh, he nailed her… and I bet they… you know’.
“And it’s like ‘no’, I can have a normal interaction with someone.
“It’s disrespectful for me and to that person, and if they have a wife or significant other. So don’t [do that], it ruins it.
“So bearing that in mind, I did fan girl over Tiger Woods.
“He’s the only person I got so incredibly nervous [over] while having a lesson at his charity event, Tiger Jam [which raises money for Woods’ education-based charity].
“I was shaking like a leaf, I was so nervous. But he was so nice.
“That was one moment where I was like, ‘I can’t believe this is my life’.”
Spiranac is renowned for her golf skills, becoming a professional in May 2016, when she played the Cactus Tour.
In her third start, she beat Hannah O’Sullivan in a sudden-death win which gave her only tour victory.
However, she turned to other business ventures that same year when she was unable to earn a card for the LGPA circuit.
Since then she has been able to build a successful business career around her love of golf.
Spirinac earns thousands of dollars per post on her social media channels and regularly posts about sport, once joking that people would be richer if they turned sound on during her videos.
This is down to her picking Cameron Smith to win The Open in 2022. When it was revealed later that year that she is one of the most followed golfers in the world, she joked: “This just in. Men like golf and boobs.”
