Cristiano Ronaldo turned down hat-trick to help teammate score in front of proud partner Georgina Rodriguez

Cristiano Ronaldo turned down the opportunity to score a hat-trick for Al Nassr handing his penalty to a teammate.

The former Manchester United star helped his side to a 4-0 victory over Al Shabab on Tuesday in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo netted twice in the first half, dispatching two penalties, with former Liverpool ace Sadio Mane and Sultan Al-Ghannam also on target.

His partner Georgina Rodriguez watched on proud as punch.

Rodriguez filmed one of Ronaldo’s penalties from the stands and shared it on her Instagram story.

Though the five-time Ballon d’Or winner passed up the chance to score a hat-trick.

The 38-year-old, instead, handed the ball to Abdulrahman Ghareeb, therefore denying himself a chance of three goals.

Fans were far from pleased Ronaldo was not taking the spot-kick, despite him and Mane trying to get the crowd to support Ghareeb.

The player missed, hitting the post, before dispatching the rebound, only for the referee to blow his whistle for an infringement.

Ronaldo’s professionalism and unselfishness was there to see, as he looked to help boost the confidence of his teammate, who had been struggling for form.

Had Ronaldo have taken the penalty, it would have meant he’d have netted a staggering 850 career goals.

Though the milestone is likely to be only around the corner, and could come when Al Nassr face Al Hazm away on Saturday.

Following the win, Ronaldo’s side moved to sixth in the table, with six points on the board.
