Carlisle betting tips

3.30: Touch The Moon 5/6 (1pt)

Touch The Moon improved greatly on his second run and was only just denied by a head last time out.

Goes up against Magsood this time who has placed behind Whiskey Pete back in July at Newmarket, the same horse Touch The Moon finished a head in front of at Haydock in August.

Given that form and the weight allowance to the Sea The Stars colt, he has all the makings of winning this well under P J McDonald.

Thirsk betting tips

2.50: Cinderella’s Dream 5/4 (1pt)

Promising debutant who despite showing signs of inexperience could have easily thrown away chances but stayed on stoutly under James Doyle to win more comfortably than the margin would suggest.

Being upped to 1m will suit and now under William Buick is set to get her second victory underway for in-form yard and jockey who have an interesting crop of two-year-olds making their appearances at the latter stages of this season.

Lava Stream should be kept on eye on though, if she improves from her listed race heavy defeat, as long as she learns to settle and the hood is turned to in the hopes that will work – so may be an option if looking for a bigger price each-way bet.

Fontwell betting tips

3.38: Nibras Gold 7/2 (1pt)

A great price for a consistent hurdler at this level who has only really been beaten recently by horse carrying a lot less weight.

From seven hurdle contests he’s won twice and placed four times, while looking like still potentially improving as a result of a wind op back in March.

The odds-on shot trained by Alan King has plenty of positives but enters into a Class 4 handicap territory for the first time while upped 5lb for his latest win against a relatively weak field.

Ffos Las betting tips

5.50: First Encore (1pt)

This is an interesting two-year-old contest as a few of these have shown promise and decent form on debuts.

Blue Day, by Blue Point, placed fourth behind the now 84-rated James’s Delight.

First Encore however, has placed behind Baheer and Task Force on his first two starts. The latter of which won the champions two year old Trophy Stakes at Ripon last week, beating the likes of Seven Questions, Asadna, and Shagraan comfortably, all of which have an official rating of at least 90.

It’s hard to see a horse without a run to give them the necessary experience to win here but it could happen. Blacklion is an interesting candidate for the Osborne’s and will be ridden by Saffie for his debut.

Odonnell’s Orchard has three runs and the most experience as a result, with a mark of 88 sets the standard.

Notably, he’s placed in listed company at Newbury behind Action Point and wasn’t far behind Starlust, Array and Group 3 winner Indian Run on debut.

But still without a win and not justifying that form at Salisbury in August, First Encore is much easier to side with.
