David Brooks scored his first Premier League goal since winning his fight against cancer.
The Bournemouth star was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2021 and underwent immediate treatment.
However the winger was given the all-clear in May 2022 and ultimately returned to action in March this year.
With a pre-season under his belt, Brooks was making his fourth appearance of the season against Brentford.
And it seem as though he was going to wrap up a win for the visitors after finding the back of the net with a cool finish – his first top-flight goal since July 2020.
Following a mistake from Rico Henry, Marcus Tavernier broke free down the left flank and squared the ball to the Wales international.
With all of the composure in the world, Brooks rounded Mark Flekken to put the Cherries 2-1 in front with just 13 minutes left.
While Bournemouth were on track for the victory, Brentford clawed one back in the 93rd minute through Bryan Mbeumo who ensured that both sides came away with a point apiece.
