Heung-min Son scores hat-trick and James Maddison shines again as Tottenham continue to impress under Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham bounced back from their Carabao Cup exit midweek in the best way possible by destroying Burnley at Turf Moor.

Skipper Heung-min Son scored his first goals under Ange Postecoglou by banging in a hat-trick in the 5-2 victory.

And it was another masterclass from James Maddison, who found the back of the net for the second successive Premier League match.

The north London outfit, who were dumped out of the League Cup by Fulham on Tuesday, remain unbeaten in the top-flight this season.

They have picked up ten points out of a possible 12 on offer, with Spurs winning three league matches on the bounce.

But they were made to come from behind in Lancashire after Lyle Foster broke the deadlock in the fourth minute with a sweeping left-footed strike from close range.

Spurs were level 12 minutes later when Son expertly dinked the ball over Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.

And after a tight first half, Cristian Romero then put the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time with a stunning curling effort.

The 2022 World Cup winner took aim from outside the box, with his effort smacking in off the post and into the top left corner.

It was 3-1 in the 54th minute as Maddison found the bottom right corner with a trademark curling strike from outside the box.

Not wanting to be outdone by his vice-captain, Son then scored twice in three minutes.

His second of the match came in the 63rd minute, where he fired a strike into the far corner after being picked out by Manor Solomon.

Pedro Porro then found the run of the South Korean moments later, with the 31-year-old making no mistake when one-on-one with Trafford.

Burnley did manage to claw back a consolation goal through Josh Brownhill in the fourth minute of added time in what was a painful afternoon for the hosts.

Vincent Kompany’s side have now lost all three of their Premier League matches this season and sit in 20th spot.

As for Spurs, they are second only to Manchester City as they continue to dazzle under the tutelage of Postecoglou.
