France vs Ireland: £30 free bets, odds and betting tips on Sky Bet

France and Ireland clash on Thursday evening this week in the UEFA EURO Qualifiers as France lead Group B with four wins in a row.

France vs Ireland odds

France are just 1/4 to win against the Republic of Ireland on Thursday night, while a draw is out to 9/2 and the outsiders are of course as high as 10/1 to win – but with a big rivalry against France they’ll be keen to give them a tough game.

France vs Ireland predictions

France are unbeaten in Group B with four games played, the only side other than Gibraltar to have played that many, with Ireland and Greece on just three each while the Netherlands have only played twice.

Ireland lost to Greece in what was ‘matchday 3’ in June in a frustrating game for the Irish who only managed to find seven shots all game before Matt Doherty was sent off close to full time.

Ireland did win against Gibraltar 3-0 but they’ve lost every game so far and have a minus 12 goal difference.

France on the other hand, beat Ireland in March in the reverse fixture and also beat Greece both by 1-0 but it’s clear they weren’t at their usual clinical self, as they showed in the World Cup and even in the first qualifier against Netherlands, winning 4-0.

France controlled possession last time against Ireland and could have hit a few more but needed to be more clinical to seal the tie.

Now though, they have that with many of their players playing at their best at club level and can take that forward in this early stage of the season on the international stage.

France vs Ireland betting tips

Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud to score, France win 11/4

Giroud always seems to find a goal from nothing and especially for his country. He netted six in ten appearances for the 19/20 EURO Qualifiers and already scored once for the current competition.

There’s a small possibility he won’t be in the starting lineup but will still be involved at some point, though he did start in the reverse fixture, against Gibraltar, but not against Greece so could make a reappearance ahead of Randal Kolo Muani.

For Mbappe, it goes without saying that he should or could score.

He netted three against Argentina in the biggest possible game which included two goals in the final ten minutes, so can’t be discounted from coming up with something at any point in the match where there’s that extra need for some brilliance.

Ireland could be prone to the wealth of attacks from France and as a result it should be a bigger loss than the one they faced at home last time.
