Jake Paul says his brother Logan deliberately chose Dillon Danis for his fight on the KSI vs Tommy Fury undercard due to his trolling history.
Logan and his fiancee Nina Agdal have been on the receiving end of taunting from Danis, with the MMA fighter re-posting an X-rated video of Agdal, as well as images of her with other men including Manchester United cult hero Diego Forlan.
But Logan’s brother and fellow boxer, Jake, insists he chose to fight Danis on purpose, knowing full well that his outlandish behaviour on social media in the build-up to the bout would benefit him.
Posting about Danis on X, Jake wrote: “Remember my brother picked this guy for one reason only… because he craves attention and followers and will do his best to sell the fight, making my brother even wealthier in the process.
“Hence why Danis has no backend percentage of the money made. He’s a puppet.”
Despite dealing with a tidal wave of taunting following the posts about his fiance, Logan says it has only made him and his fiancee stronger.
“I love this girl so f****ng much, [the relationship] is so much stronger,” he said.
“Nothing will get between us, not some fake internet troll.
“Danis’ life has devolved to being a pretend fighter. He’s attacking an uninvolved third-party, a woman. That’s all he has and I get it, all is fair in love and war.
“The amount of dirt I have on him sitting in my phone, but do I want to go there?”
Paul and Danis will go head to head at the Manchester Arena next month as the second main event under influencer boxing promoters Misfits.
His only pro boxing fight came against KSI in 2019, which saw him lose on split decision. Meanwhile, American star Danis is set for his first boxing bout.
