Goodwood betting tips

2.45: Pink Satin 7/4 (1pt)

Mohammed Tabti comes on board this promising filly and takes off 5lb which really puts her way ahead of the rest in terms of potential.

The current price looks fair but she should outrun this price after a decent enough performance at Windsor in August, in the Racing League behind Zoulu Chief.

That horse was carrying 5lb less that day but stormed home by nearly five lengths but it still works out well as the colt went on to win at York the week after and is now rated 95.

He also beat the likes of Baheer by a comfortable distance at 150/1 so many horses this one has finished ahead of have gone on and this looks a dangerous mark after that competitive Windsor test.

4.30: King Lear 8/11 (NAP – 2pts)

This Galileo colt is bred to be stepped up in trip and after a rousing victory at Nottingham, when tipped at 11/10 in August, looks set to relish this on what his just his third run.

William Buick has a superb record at Goodwood and gets the ride on the George Boughey-trained three-year-old.

And to come into this field at odds-on shows the potential at this stage, very likeable.

Bangor betting tips

2.25: Arctic Fox 2/1 (1pt)

Going well at Aintree last time out before falling three out, behind Father Of Jazz, Gaius and VE Day – all of which have gone on to do quite well in this discipline, especially the winner.

Likely to have improved a lot since May over hurdles and finds a weak race to potentially capitalise on.

3.00: Quid Pro Quo 5/4 (1pt)

Looks well suited to this new trip and has good form in second place the last three runs including in a tough Class 2 at Uttoxeter back in May.

Ran into a couple of decent horses again there over 2m5f in July including the now 140-rated A Different Kind and Any News who won on Sunday by ten lengths over 2m7f at Worcester.

Fourth place at Uttoxeter has also gone on to win since when upped in trip and it all points to another winner in the JP McManus colours for the Skelton team.

3.35: The Big Jetaway 5/4 (1pt)

Looked well suited stepping up in trip last time out over hurdles and returns to fences once more today having already won his two chase contests this season in July and August.

Could have won by further the last time he was over fences here but made mistake at the last which cost a few lengths but still did enough to beat Getaway Luv, Gold Link and Trapista that day.

Go On Chez looks like the biggest threat but he drops in trip for the time in a while having gone on a small streak of second places over 3m.

But this looks like a horse on the up and still unexposed at this new trip which looks very suitable after winning here by 17 lengths over hurdles when stepping up close to 2m4f a couple of weeks ago.

4.10: VE Day 15/2 each-way (1pt)

Drifted out in price significantly which only makes for more value as an each-way punt.

He won well on his first start over hurdles at Musselburgh and things since then haven’t quite gone as well as hoped but record decent places in the last three, including behind the likes of Father Of Jazz in the same race mentioned earlier.

There’s hope for improvement for this hurdler who now has a 5lb claimer to help aid his potential for a horse that does have good speed over this trip.

Ripon betting tips

4.55: Rogue Enforcer 10/11 (2pts)

Colt by Profitable placed well on debut behind Array, who was having his third run. Lots of positives to take from that as a stepping stone for better things to come this season and it looks like they’ve found a decent race to kick start the wins for this two-year-old.

Hamilton betting tips

4.40: Princess Alex 5/1 (1pt)

Huge win two runs ago and didn’t follow that up at all last time out but was running far too keen in the early stages and as a result dropped out of contention.

Shouldn’t be the same this time out and if replicating Pontefract form should have this in the bag.

P+L since 10/07/23: +66.61pts
