‘My heart hurts’ says Gerald McCoy as he responds to shock news of former Bucs teammate Mike Williams death at 36

Gerald McCoy has reacted to the heartbreaking death of former teammate Mike Williams at the age of 36.

Williams was a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs during his six-year NFL career.

McCoy is heartbroken

During his career, he made 223 receptions, scoring 26 touchdowns with 3,089 receiving yards.

After retiring in 2016, he moved into construction, and died in an accident on a building site on Tuesday night, a Buffalo TV station reported.

Williams had one of the best rookie seasons in Bucs history in 2010, and his fellow draftee McCoy has now commented on the news.

“Dang man hurts my heart seeing the news of my former teammate and Buccaneers 2010 draft class brother Mike Williams,” he wrote.

McCoy later added to his thoughts, writing: “Man this killing me man, 4 of my former teammates gone. 

“Teo, Geno, V-Jack and now Mike. Nobody seen 40…………. 😔😔😔 Post football ain’t no joke man. 

“Y’all be thinking we’re superheroes and we be tryna tell y’all we are humans just like everybody else.”
