Bath betting tips

4.00: Divina Grace 7/1 each-way (1pt)

Not much about today on the flat apart from potential value from this 80-rated filly dropping back to a Class 4 Handicap for trainer Rae Guest.

She started this season in great style, winning at Chepstow before coming a close second at Goodwood later on that month in June.

Subsequent third place amongst a fillies Class 3 at Newbury but tailed off twice recently when stepped up to an even 1m6f.

She drops down to her apparent preferred trip on Wednesday evening though and likely to bounce back having dropped in grade.

The filly can certainly be excused two starts ago as she was in esteemed company on heavy testing ground in the Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes, which was won by Sumo Sam.

Has had a bit of a habit of leading early on and tamely dropping away recently and that clearly isn’t the tactics to be deployed here as she’s had good success coming off the pace in the final couple of furlongs.

Warren Hill looks to be her main rival and has been well backed in to take this stepping up in trip from her 1m2f victory at Nottingham last time out and could be included in an exacta bet to help cover with the market often being a good indicator.

Southwell betting tips

5.00: Our Scholar 15/8 (1pt) & Social City 20/1 each-way (1pt)

Trainer Jack Jones has got this horse in fine form over hurdles and now switches back to the flat for the first time since October last year.

He’s only been tried from 1m-1m6f before and with his hurdle form in play, looks very well suited to the step up to over 2m in what is a weak Class 6 handicap.

Social City is a big price considering he’s often in the top three when it comes to the all-weather.

He’ll have to do it off top-weight this time but is down to a dangerous mark once more, and this very experienced seven-year-old certainly has more to shout about than some others in the field.

From 29 runs on the AW he’s placed in the top three 15 times

Kempton betting tips

7.00: Bloomwithgrace 5/1 each-way (1pt)

Comes up against a plethora of less experienced horses while carrying the least of this field.

Trained by Tom Dascombe this filly has plenty of appeal in what looks like a handy mark as she’s ran with credit over 1m including a close second to Never Ending, which suggests she could be even higher rated.

Dunes King has to give away 12lb as the top-weight and that mark looks hefty at this early stage, while the favourite is only 11/4 in what is clearly a wide open novice contest.

Especially at Kempton where the outsiders can often prevail with the right ride, and Bloomwithgrace will suit coming off the pace to push on in the last couple of furlongs.

8.00: Unlimited 1/1 (2pts – NAP)

Still looks as though he’s well-weighted as the Saxon Warrior horse won well at Newbury last time out, on what was his first run since being gelded.

That clearly did the trick and after that run was upped 7lb but based on his previous form and potential upward curve that shouldn’t stop him making all here, with the step up in trip also likely to suit given how he won at Newbury.

James Doyle takes the ride and he’s been in great form of late and has a 23% strike-rate at Kempton, despite having the most runs here than any other course, with 360.

P+L since 10/07/23: +56.61pts
