Scotland are in the unique scenario that they could book their place at Euro 2024 next week while playing a friendly against England.
The Tartan Army have enjoyed a historic start to their qualification campaign, winning all four games to sit top of Group A.
Steve Clarke’s men have enjoyed famous victories over Spain and Norway to move eight points clear in their table.
Scotland next face minnows Cyprus on Friday, having started their qualification group with a 3-0 win in March’s reverse fixture.
When can Scotland qualify for Euro 2024?
Scotland need just five more points from their remaining four qualifiers to cement their place in next year’s finals in Germany.
However, they can qualify even earlier should they beat Cyprus and other results go their way.
Victory in Larnaca would put Scotland on 15 points and guarantee that they finish in one of the two qualification spots should Spain beat Georgia that same night and Georgia then draw to Norway on Tuesday.
Such a scenario would leave Norway and Georgia on five points each, with only nine left to play for and guarantee the Scots finish one above.
This could mean that Scotland may earn their spot at the Euros while they are facing rivals England in a friendly at Hampden Park.
“We’ve not even discussed England,” assistant boss John Carver said of the friendly against the Three Lions on Monday.

“We haven’t discussed anything outside of the game on Friday night against Cyprus, we have to put all our energy into that game.
“We have to stay humble and show humility so going into this game is all about hard work, our players being focused, and making sure all our efforts go into this game.”
