Latvia vs Wales predictions
Latvia and Wales have only played twice in their history, the latest coming in the reverse fixture which saw Wales win just 1-0.
The previous fixture was way back in 2004 in an international friendly which Wales won 2-0.
The latest score wouldn’t indicate too much ease in backing Wales at such a short price and with Latvia at home they could pick up a surprise point or three at massive odds.
5/1 looks large over a side that could only win 1-0 – though that was a dominant game from Wales, despite the low score line.
They had over 70% of the ball but still gave away a few opportunities to the visitors.
Latvia have a tendency to make it tough for their opponents, only losing by one to all of Ireland, Armenia, Turkey and Wales in their last four games this year.
They haven’t won since 2022 though, which is a large reason for their 5/1 price, and that came against Liechtenstein in June in the Nations League.
Latvia vs Wales betting tips
Latvia +1 – 31/20
Given the odds, Latvia’s ability to keep teams within reach and the odds being far too much in favour of Wales a handicap bet on Latvia +1 covers plenty of eventualities while also offering the most value in the betting.
This bet will have been a winner in each of their last four fixtures this season and given they play at home can bring a tough game to Wales who will be desperate for a win after losing their last two in the competition.
Wales are just fourth in Group D with four points and four games played, behind Turkey, Armenia and Croatia.
Croatia have only played twice and still better Wales’s position in the group and this can offer another surprise as a result or at least a 1-0 or 2-1 win for the visitors.
