Fans at the US Open gave a standing ovation midway through a point during a stunning rally at Flushing Meadows.
Coco Gauff and Aryla Sabalenka were hoing head to head in the US Open Women’s Final – a clash that has so far been a thriller.
The US starlet, Gauff, made a nervy start to the clash which allowed the soon-to-be world number one Sabalenka to take a 2-0 lead.
However the nerves of the occasion – not to mention playing in front of a New York crowd who were backing the 19-year-old American – led the Belarusian to make a series of errors to allow Gauff back into the game.
With the score in the first set 3-2 in Sabalenka’s favour, the high-quality encounter reached boiling point as the two stars played out a memorable point.
It was Sabalenka who served with Gauff forced into an impressive return against the big-hitting 25-year-old.
What followed was a stunning 13-stroke rally that saw fans on their feet and giving a standing ovation midway through due to the incredible quality on show from both performers.
Ultimately it was Sabalenka who claimed the point after slamming home, before celebrating in front of the very impressed crowd.
