Thousands of England supporters were stranded outside the Stade Veledrome moments before kick-off.
Steve Borthwick’s side were facing Argentina in their opening clash of the Rugby World Cup in Marseille with fans hoping for a morale-boosting victory to get the tournament up and running.
However many supporters were left feeling anxious after being held up on their way into the stadium.
The Stade Veledrome, which holds 67,000 people, had plenty of empty seats as the teams made their way out onto the pitch for the national anthems, with footage showing fans left in hefty queues minutes before the game got started.
With tickets for the clash costing huge sums, fans of both England and Argentina will have been sweating at the prospect of missing the clash.
Thankfully, the queues started to move before kick-off with just a small number of fans still stuck outside as the game got underway.
