KSI avoids injury playing in goal for Sidemen Charity Match ahead of Tommy Fury fight in 13-goal thriller

KSI endured a tough match as he survived the full 90 minutes of Sidemen Charity Match despite fighting Tommy Fury next month.

The YouTube sensation was named in goal for the charity clash at a sold-out London Stadium on Saturday despite a huge fight to prepare for when he faces Fury next month.

But there was no way that he was not going to play for his beloved Sidemen FC at the 2023 Sidemen Charity Match, in front of 62,000 people.

And despite a strong start between the posts, it did not go to plan as he went on to concede twice before half-time.

In fairness, the first goal from ChrisMD was worthy of the Puskas Award – humiliating two players with their mothers watching on before tucking the ball into the corner.

The second goal, though, KSI will not want to watch back as Chunkz let loose from distance.

The ball struck a defender just as JJ went to dive to his left, taking a massive deflection to leave KSI helpless.

And while he tried to make it back across the goalmouth, even getting a hand to the ball, it was far too late and Chunkz was racing away to celebrate as KSI picked the ball out of the net.

But the real drama came after the break when American star IShowSpeed was given the chance to score from the penalty spot, only for his tame effort to be easily saved by KSI, who bust out the ‘SIU’ celebration in reply.

However, KSI went from hero to zero moments later – by giving away a bizarre own goal.

An innocuous cross from Chunkz was easily collected by KSI, who dramatically went to the floor but then rolled over the line in comical fashion.

Referee Mark Clattenburg had no choice to give the goal as JJ raced toward the linesman, berating him with vented fury.

With his fight against Fury coming next month, it might have been wise to come off and not risk an injury, though he survived some scares – including some wild kicks from mates Chunkz, Yung Filly and Speed – all in jest, of course.

The boxing fight will go ahead at the Manchester Arena on October 14 and will be KSI’s second professional bout.

His first and only pro fight so far was a victory over Logan Paul, whose younger brother Jake was vanquished by Fury earlier this year.

However, including exhibition fights, KSI is unbeaten in four having beaten FaZe Temperrr, as well as defeating Luis Alcaraz Pineda and Swarmz on the same night.
